Makeup Must Haves and Misses
I love makeup and what it can do to enhance your beauty! I’ve gathered a list of makeup that worked for me and ones that missed the mark.
I am obsessed with this palette!I’m always runing out of my two colors I use as my base eyeshadow which is Raw Sienna and Burnt Orange. This palette is perfect to add to your collection, works great with all skin tones and can be used in any season. The shadows are very pigmented and blendable. This is definitely a palette worth splurging on and they have single shadows for just $12!-I will be picking up 2 this weekend.
This is my absolute favorite setting powder,I have been using it for a year. It gives me a poreless finish and I use the Translucent to set my foundation and the Translucent Medium Deep on my checks to contour,I love the warmth it gives me. It also helps to combat my combo skin and Leaves my skin looking flawless throughout the day.
This highlight palette is for the girls who love to slay there makeup! Pictures come out so good with this palette. It was a limited edition palette however Macy’s has it in stock, well worth the price tag and during a recent TJ Maxx shopping trip,I saw one in the beauty isle!
This is the most affordable blush palette with 10 colors including a highlighter that will compliment all skin tones. This was a before christmas buy at Target!I tend to get my blushes at Sephora for prices in the $22-$28 range and this palette offers pigmented options-Will buy again!
Products that missed the mark
This was a Target Find,I love when I go to Target and find brands I follow like NYX. Regrettably this palette requires building the color for it to show on my skin tone and It can easily be a dupe to the Modern Renaissance palette. The Rustic Antique offers pretty tones but missed the mark for me.
When I was shopping at my local ULTA I was in search of a color corrector.I asked about the product and was told it can cover up my blemish on my cheek,I’m currently fighting with Vitamin C serum from Mario Badescu but I still need to color correct while my blemish clears. The Highlighter pen in Peach Luster worked wonders on correcting however while I was at work It caked up under my foundation causing me to blot every so offen.Total miss for me!
Sadly none of the colors worked for me,I used my eyeshadow brush lightly and the pigment just didn’t look very good on me.My skin tone is like caramel mocha,I have a yellow undertone and I thought If I blend out the colors I can SLAY the colors in the palette but It was a miss.
Makeup for me is like enhancing your beauty. So far the best foundation is Estee Lauder priced at $42.Make Up For Ever Concealer $34 and Make Up For Ever Color Corrector $28 is the best, doesn’t cake up and a little goes a long way. I’m currently love MAC Coconut Finishing Spray $27 and I wished it came in a bigger bottle-I started buying two bottles at a time. I always finish my look with MAC CremeSheen Lipstick $17.50 as It worked so well this winter compared to Matte Lipstick.
