Life doesn’t stop during Covid, It keeps going

Life during covid has been an eye opener.I’ve learned more about myself, my vision for 2021 and living life to the fullest.

Covid started in March for my area, work slowed down and there was a lot of uncertainty and conference calls.Shortly after mid march my lay off happened. I used the time to make sure I applied for unemployment, got my bills in order, utilizing the unemployment coverage I had for my credit cards and slowed my spending.

I spent my time building a new routine.I started my day with a brisk walk and a triple berry protein shake for breakfast I used my free time to apply for jobs.Texas Workforce did not require job search however, I can’t sit still and working gives me the option to keep me on my toes to grow.

Before the layoff

My industry was in Cosmetic Dermatology. My knowledge was in Botox, Fillers,Vampire Facials to Skin Tightening, Coolsculpting and more.On my desktop,I wrote a message to myself “ Smile,Your a rockstar” a daily reminder when my days would get stressful. My co-workers were my second family. We were a group of strong women, if things needed to be addressed we would talk about it and move on. I enjoyed the group lunches, after work get togethers and the birthday surprises.

Month One of Lay off

Day’s of sadness turned to days of let focus on the positive.Poshmark Boutique business was still moving. I was super grateful to the buyers sending them thank you cards to each order.I needed to focus on myself during this time adding in random parking lot coffee dates with my bestfriend to facetime happy hours.

Self care was a big help for me to stay positive.I started to apply for new jobs within Cosmetic Dermatology. Keeping my head up, This millennial started to use Tik Tok. Tik Tok was a ton of fun, It took time to make content but the finishing product was worth it.

I enjoyed time hanging out with my ex-husband.I haven’t seen him in months.Last time was brief shortly after New Years to grab the last of his things from a rental we had after the lease ended I needed to keep a few household supplies to keep the backyard in order per the lease agreement. The best thing that happened during the peak of covid was closure, we both needed and wanted.

Month Two of Lay off

I started think outside of the box and boom a job offer came. My last week before my first day I focused on doing more self care days.I went to Target for Epsom salt, sugar scrub, bath bombs and face masks. On a budget It only cost $20 utilizing my red card and coupons on the Target app.

Journaling daily helped me clear my head, write my goals and keep pushing. The goal was to not allow Covid to take away my goals.

8 months into a pandemic, 2020 changed into the year of evolution. As we get closer to the holidays, don’t lose hope.Shine and keep wining no matter what and add in self care days when feeling low,Trust me babe you won’t regret it.
